Hygienist leads the dentist through the exam, appointment services, pending treatment, new concerns and patient "readiness to accept treatment"

Restorative and Cosmetic Presentation
Address restorative needs and cosmetic desires for the patient. Encourage health and emotional well being with motivational interviewing.

Comprehensive treatment plan
Inform and guide patients to plan completion of all treatment needed or desired emotionally, chronologically and financially.

Transition of all patients from clinician to administrative staff, creating a feeling of assurance, comfort and clarity of continuation of optimum oral care.

Consultation
Special time for case managers, dentists, patients and their decision makers to discuss their diagnosis, benefits and risks of treatment vs. non treatment, treatment options and desires. A record of acknowledgement of discussion and consent for treatment must be retained in patient record.

Financials
Patient’s signed agreement for how and when payment for treatment will be made.
